CareLift Equipment has been designing and building excellent rough terrain forklifts ever since 1962. Each and every day the company strives to help their consumers reach their goals and deliver value as they know the bottom line is reliability and performance.
Boom lifts come in 2 general types, the straight boom lift and articulated boom lift. Both these units are often powered hydraulically. Most often straight booms are the great alternative for tasks which need a high reach with no obstructions. The turntable on the equipment is capable of rotating 360 degrees with an extendable boom. This extendable boom is able to be raised vertically to below horizontal. Since the operator can steer and maneuver the vehicle while the boom is completely extended, it is a very versatile machine. These units come in gas, diesel or propane configurations as well as 4 wheel drive and 2 wheel drive.
Articulated boom lifts are used for lifting cargo up and over obstacles and gain access to areas which were otherwise not accessible. These lift models perform tasks which straight telescopic booms cannot do. These lifts are almost identical to the straight boom lift in most aspects except in the ability of the boom to articulate. There are different articulation points on the boom in order to allow it to bend in a range of different directions allowing it to easily move around any objects in the work environment.
Several heavy-duty boom lifts come outfitted with outriggers in order to maintain stability while the boom lift is completely extended. The outriggers provide the operator with some extra confidence and safety. Proper training is necessary before using boom lifts in order to ensure the operator, the jobsite and everybody working in the vicinity stays safe.
The boom lift allows for jobs requiring a lot of man hours to be carried out in a lot less time. These equipment have revolutionized the material handling industry and have really increased production.
