Different Classes of Aerial Lift
Aerial lifts are a particular kind of heavy machine which allows workers to be lifted into the air. These machinery can be utilized to perform maintenance and repairs in places that are high up in the air such as on roofs, near power lines and street-light fixtures. Like nearly all devices, there are various models of aerial lifts that can be utilized to carry out various tasks. For the utmost safety, every kind of different type of machine requires proper training and specific certification before operation.

Scissor Lifts
Genie lifts are another name for scissor lifts. These equipment are the most basic type of aerial lift available. These lifts are made of a platform which is lifted up using pneumatic power and are mainly used for indoor applications. Normally, scissor lifts are the safest kind of lift models. When totally compressed, these scissor lifts are capable of being driven similar to big carts. Usually, when the platform is extended, they could not be driven for safety reasons. Before anyone could utilize these tools, employees have to be licensed as operators.

Boom Lifts
The boom lift is a much more complicated kind of aerial lift machinery compared to a scissor lift. The boom lift normally has a much wider base in order to keep the lift anchored. It uses a jointed arm which has a bucket on the end of it. There is a control box situated in the bucket that enables the operator to raise and lower the bucket. As the arm of the boom is jointed, it could move from side to side as well. The boom lift resembles a tail of a metal scorpion. Usually, it is used in outdoor construction applications. The boom lift is considered to be more risky to run compared to scissor lifts, therefore, operators should be licensed separately for these types of lifts.
