Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by various sources. They can run using gasoline, LP gas or liquid propane, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel preferred for various applications. There are several facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This enables forklifts to be refueled whenever they require. In other places, the facility would have spare LP cylinders that are able to be changed out when the machine should be refueled.
In order to prevent possible serious injury, certain precautions must be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. Like for example: be sure to wear the appropriate safety equipment like safety glasses or goggles and heavy gloves. Make sure that you turned off the forklift ignition before changing out the tank. Next, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is securely closed. Use your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Keep in mind that it would turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never use any kind of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened just by using the hand.
