In the year 1966, Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries. During that time, he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift that operated on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" which was used to lower and raise the hoist. This device greatly impressed lots of clients and therefore, the name was born.
Genie has moved into numerous new markets, because the demand for work platforms and lifts grew. Over time, as the requirements for new equipment to meet many applications grew, the company made itself recognized in numerous new markets. For example, Genie went into making stick booms, telehandlers, man-lifts, articulated booms and light towers.
Genie decided to acquire a partner who had the same values as a result of the economic recession in the start of the 2000s, when they partnered together with Terex. This company has a history acquiring machine manufacturers all around the globe who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Due to the Genie name and its solid reputation in the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand name as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the first few years following the sale. Therefore, all Genie equipment continue to be marketed under the Genie brand.
The company takes great pride in taking advice from and listening to their clients. Genie has always been continually dedicated to improving the quality and efficiency in addition to minimizing wastes. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on providing outstanding support. These are the very work practices which have made Genie a trusted brand name over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality equipment.
The DC and Bi-Energy machines offered by Genie provide emission-free, quiet operation even in the most delicate work environments. Where the equipment should be driven significant distances, like within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the power of a diesel-powered generator along with the benefits of a 48V DC equipment.
Compared to any of the different kinds of aerial platforms, telescopic booms provide greater horizontal reach overall. These equipment are ideal for limited access areas in construction and other industrial settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to provide utmost productivity. These machines deliver supreme traction and the drive speed you require to be able to travel around the job area and work site.
